March 12 to March 24, 2008


March 12, Wednesday Depart Washington/Dulles Intl. Airport or New York/JFK Airport for Tel Aviv via Paris.

March 13, Thursday: Arrive Tel Aviv, Meeting and transfer to Ron Beach Hotel. Remainder of day free to rest. Mass. Dinner and Overnight.

March 14, Friday: Nazareth. After breakfast, your day begins with the Renewal of Baptismal vows on the River Jordan. Continue to Mount Tabor, the traditional site of the Transfiguration. Visit the monastery and its dependencies and enjoy the view of the Plain of Jezreel. Continue to Nazareth and the Basilica of the Annunciation for Mass. Lunch at local restaurant. Visit the Grotto, St. Joseph’s Church and House, Mary’s Well. Continue to Cana of Galilee the site of the First Miracle, and return to Tiberias. Dinner and Overnight.

March 15, Saturday: Drive to the Mount of Beatitudes for Mass then around the Sea of Galilee... After lunch take a boat ride across the Sea of Galilee to Capharnaum. Visit the Church of the Primacy of Peter, Tabgha, place of Multiplication of Loaves and Fishes and Magdala. Return to Tiberias. Dinner and Overnight.

March 16, Sunday: Depart Tiberias and drive through the Jordan Valley to the old and new cities of Jericho. Drive to Qumran where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered and then to the Dead Sea. Continue your drive to Bethphage to participate in the Palm Sunday Procession lead by His Beatitude, the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, over the Mount of Olives, through Gethsemane, into Jerusalem.

March 17, Monday: Drive to Bethany, the village of Martha, Mary and Lazarus to visit the church and Lazarus’s Tomb. Continue to the Mount of Olives to visit the place of the Ascension, the Pater Noster, and see the panoramic view of the Old City of Jerusalem. Descend by foot to visit the Church of Dominus Flevit, where our Lord wept over the city of Jerusalem: the Russian Church of Mary Magdalene, the Basilica of the Agony, where Mass will be celebrated, the Garden of Gethsemane and the Tomb of our Blessed Mother. In the afternoon enter the Old City of Jerusalem via St. Stephens’s Gate. Visit the Church of St. Anne and the Pool of Bethesda before beginning the Way of the Cross staring at the Flagellation and ending at the Basilica of the Holy Sepulchre.

March 18, Tuesday: Depart for Ain Karem, the place of the Visitation and birthplace of St. John the Baptist. Continue to Bethlehem where Mass will be celebrated at the Manger Altar in the Grotto of the Nativity. Visit the 4th Century Basilica, the Milk Grotto, Shepherds’ Field, the Carmel of Bethlehem and the Tomb of Blessed Mary of Jesus Crucified, OCD, (The Little Arab). Time for lunch (on own) and shopping in Bethlehem. Return to Jerusalem. Dinner and Overnight.

March 19, Wednesday: Jerusalem. Mass will be celebrated on Calvary in the Basilica of the Holy Sepulchre. See the Temple area, and visit the Western (Wailing) Wall. In the afternoon drive to Mt. Sion to visit the Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu, the Dormition Abbey, the Franciscan Cenacle (commemorating the Lord’s Last Supper), the Cenotaph of David, the Armenian Quarter with the Cathedral of Saint James, first Bishop of Jerusalem, the Citadel of David and Jaffa Gate. Dinner and Overnight.

March 20, HOLY THURSDAY: Attend the Solemn Pontifical Mass with blessing of the Holy Oils in the Basilica of the Holy Sepulchre. The afternoon is free and at 9:00PM, return to the Cenacle for the Liturgy of the Lord’s Supper.

March 21, GOOD FRIDAY – Pontifical Mass of the Pre-Sanctified on Calvary. At 11:00AM make the Solemn Way of the Cross. Day free for private devotions. Evening attend the Funeral Service in the Basilica of the Holy Sepulchre.

March 22, HOLY SATURDAY. The Easter Vigil begins at 7:30AM today. Pilgrims are welcome to participate in this liturgy in the Basilica of the Holy Sepulchre. The day is at leisure. At midnight, The Easter Vigil Mass is celebrated at the Holy Sepulchre by the Very Reverend Father Custos of the Franciscan Friars.

March 23, EASTER SUNDAY: Join the Pontifical Mass in the Basilica of the Holy Sepulchre. The rest of the morning is free. Lunch at local restaurant followed by a visit to EMMAUS of the Resurrection. Tradition holds that this is the spot where the two disciples recognized the Risen Lord in the Breaking of the Bread. Visit the Church and the house of Cleophas.Return to Jerusalem. Dinner and Overnight.

March 24, Monday: Depart Jerusalem for Tel Aviv and your return flight back to Washington/Dulles or JFK International Airport via Air France and continue to your hometowns.

RATE INCLUDES: Air transportation via Air France, economy class as per itinerary, hotels based on two persons sharing a twin-bedded room with bath and or shower, breakfast and dinner throughout, 1 lunch in Nazareth and l lunch in Jerusalem, sightseeing as detailed, deluxe motor coach throughout, English Speaking tour escort, transfers, porterage.

NOT INCLUDED: Cost of passport, items of personal nature, beverages, tips to hotel staff, driver and Guide, ($7.00 per person, per day), all that is not mentioned under, Rate Includes.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
RESERVATIONS: DEPOSITS AND PAYMENTS: Reservations may be secured upon receipt of your deposit in the sum of $300.00 per person. Reservations should be received no later than Dec. 15, 2007. After December 15, a late fee of $50.00 may be imposed. Final Payment is due Jan. 25, 2008. EARLY RESERVATIONS ARE STRONGLY RECOMMENDED.
AIR TRANSPORTATION: via Economy Class, based on a non-refundable air fare. Airlines reserve the right to impose full cancellation penalties. Anyone wishing to deviate from the tour must request this in writing and the price of your air ticket will be determined on an individual basis. Airlines due impose a minimum of $100.00 deviation fee and a minimum $75.00 additional stop-over fee. Requests for deviations must be received at least 95 days prior to departure.
HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS: This pilgrimage will be accommodated in good 3 star hotels, based on two persons sharing a twin-bedded room with private bath and or shower. Ron Beach in Tiberias and Knights Palace in Jerusalem. A limited number of single rooms are available at a supplemental charge and they are distributed on a first come, first serve basis. Again. If you are traveling alone and wish a share basis, we will do our best to arrange double occupancy. If a roommate is not available, a surcharge may be imposed. If you prefer a single room, please advice us and we will bill you accordingly. Early Reservations are Recommended.
MEALS: Breakfast, dinner and 2 lunches.
SIGHTSEEING: Via deluxe air conditioned motor coach, as specified in itinerary, English Speaking Tour Escort throughout, all entrance fees unless otherwise noted in itinerary.
TRANSFERS & PORTERAGE: Round-trip transfers between airport and hotel are included with assistance and porterage in hotels. Porterage for one suitcase per person. Individuals are responsible for their carry-on luggage.
BAGGAGE: Allowed free of charge is one suitcase per person with a combined length, width and height of 62 inches with a maximum weight of 50 lbs, plus one carry-on bag with total dimensions of 45 inches and a maximum weight of 35 lbs. Catholic Travel accepts no liability for lost or damaged luggage. Baggage insurance is recommended and a traveler’s insurance application will be sent to you upon receipt of your reservation.
AIRLINE SEAT ASSIGNMENTS:For group travel, seat assignments can be requested but will only be confirmed at check-in.
TRAVEL DOCUMENTS: All participants must be in possession of a valid U.S. Passport. If you are in possession of a passport from another Country other then the U.S., kindly contact us so that we can determine if any visas are required.
AIRLINE TAXES AND SECURITY CHARGE: Airline taxes and security charges are not included in the price of the tour. The amount charged for this pilgrimage is indicated on the front of your itinerary.
CANCELLATIONS: All cancellations must be submitted in writing to Catholic Travel Office. For cancellations received 95or more days prior to departure, a cancellation fee of $150.00 is imposed. 94 - 61 days prior to departure, a cancellation fee of $300.00 will be imposed. From 60 - 30 days prior to departure, the cancellation fee will be 50% of the cost of the Pilgrimage and within 30 days of departure, your cancellation fee will be 100%. Again all cancellations must be submitted in writing and the cancellation fees are determined on the day your cancellation notice is received. WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU PURCHASE TRIP CANCELLATION INSURANCE AND THE APPLICATION FORM FOR THIS WILL BE SEND TO YOU AT THE TIME WE RECEIVE YOUR DEPOSIT.
FINAL PAYMENT: Final payment for this Pilgrimage is due no later than Jan. 25, 2008. Failure to make your final payment by this date may result in the cancellation of your reservation and the forfeiture of your deposit. In addition to the above cancellation fees, once issued, airline tickets are non-refundable. Again, Traveler’s Insurance is strongly recommended.
RESPONSIBILITY: CATHOLIC TRAVEL OFFICE and their agents act only in the capacity of agents in all matters pertaining to hotel accommodations, sightseeing tours and all forms of transportation. Catholic Travel Office except for willful negligence on the part of its direct employees, is not responsible for any damage, loss (included but not limited to property loss, personal injury, loss of enjoyment, distress or life) caused by omissions of any supplier providing services for this pilgrimage or by any delays or changes in the itinerary, or acts or omissions by the tour leader. Catholic Travel Office reserves the right to cancel the pilgrimage at any time, to substitute a tour leader if necessary or to make changes in the itinerary whenever their sole judgment determines that conditions warrant a change or in their sole judgment, changes will improve the comfort, convenience and safety of the tour. The price of the tour is based on a minimum number of passengers which is indicated on your itinerary. If the minimum is not met, the price of the tour will be increased. The price of the tour is also based on tariffs and exchange rates in effect June 1, 2007. While we make every effort to keep these rates firm, they can be subject to increase. Airlines involved in this itinerary are not responsible for any act, omission or event during the time passengers are not on board their aircraft or conveyance. The reservation and ticket issued for the passengers on this pilgrimage will constitute a sole contract between the airlines and purchaser of this tour.
